Community Guidelines

Welcome to the ChordR Community

Our community forum is a space for musicians to share knowledge, ask questions, and support each other's musical journey. These guidelines help ensure a positive and respectful environment for everyone.

1. Be Respectful and Kind

Treat all community members with respect and kindness. We welcome diverse perspectives and skill levels. When interacting with others:

  • Use respectful language and tone
  • Be patient with beginners and supportive of their learning journey
  • Constructively critique when asked, but avoid personal attacks
  • Celebrate others' progress and achievements

2. Stay On Topic

Keep discussions relevant to music theory, piano practice, chord progressions, and related topics. Off-topic posts may be moved or removed to maintain the quality of discussions.

3. Share Knowledge Responsibly

When sharing information or advice:

  • Provide accurate information to the best of your knowledge
  • Cite sources when sharing technical information
  • Clarify when you're sharing personal opinions vs. established theory
  • Be open to corrections and learning from others

4. Prohibited Content

The following content is not allowed:

  • Harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language
  • Spam, advertising, or self-promotion without permission
  • Copyrighted material shared without permission
  • Personal information of others without consent
  • Content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights
  • Misinformation or deliberately misleading content

5. Sharing Drills and Practice Materials

You may share your practice drills and materials with the community. When sharing:

  • Provide context about what the drill focuses on
  • Include difficulty level and any prerequisites
  • Respect others' work and give credit when appropriate

6. Asking Questions

Questions are welcome! To get the best help:

  • Search existing discussions before posting
  • Be specific about what you're trying to learn or accomplish
  • Share what you've already tried or learned
  • Thank those who help you

7. Moderation and Enforcement

Our moderators work to maintain a healthy community environment. They may:

  • Remove content that violates these guidelines
  • Warn users about violations
  • Temporarily or permanently restrict access for repeated violations
  • Take action to protect community members

8. Reporting Issues

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it to our moderators. You can contact us at support@chordr.ca or use the reporting features in the community forum.

9. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your account secure and do not share your login credentials. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our community or policies. Significant changes will be communicated to community members. Continued participation in the community constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
